OotDL is working with Berliner Architects to develop charter elementary, middle and high school campuses that provide a variety of recreation and learning spaces for students and faculty. Each site design is developed with close coordination with educational objectives, site conditions and sustainable stormwater practices. OotDL works closely with the project architects and site engineers to integrate the site design and infrastructure from initial schematic design through final design. All campuses maximize the value and potential of the open space as useable teaching or recreation space. All campuses will incorporate large shade trees to provide campus cooling including species tolerant of extreme heat. Double Click to Edit
JAMS Middle School Campus Master Plan
Santa Monica, Ca.
Berliner Architects

OotDL has been working with Berliner Architects providing landscape architecture master planning services for campus improvements to create outdoor learning spaces, garden areas, gathering areas and to improve shade and function of underutilized spaces. A new garden space will be created adjacent to the Science building. The garden will include growing space, work counters and storage. Existing open spaces previously unfurnished and under utilized will be renovated with seating, shade and work surfaces. Open space on campuses has become more valuable as learning environments and in post pandemic conditions districts and teachers are seeing new value in investing to make outdoor spaces purposeful.
