Lewis Schoeplein Architects/LACCD
OotDL is working with Lewis Schoeplein Architects on multiple projects for this LACCD campus. We completed the conceptual design for plazas and landscape areas associated with the Student Union and Allied Health buildings for the subsequent design-build team. Our Current work on the campus includes the completion of three new campus monument marquee signage and entry projects. The Cub Way project will transform an internal vehicular roadway into a pedestrian-focused street. Thirsty lawns and low shade value palm trees are being replaced with California native and climate-adapted trees, shrubs, and perennials to increase biodiversity, reduce urban heat island, and increase habitat value. The landscape renovation will provide areas for the collection and infiltration of stormwater. OotDL worked with the Theodore Payne Foundation to develop native and climate-adapted low-maintenance planting palettes to replace existing exotic species. This project was reviewed and approved by the Division of State Architect.
